CMM offers more Scholarship Grants PDF Print E-mail
Yes, it can be told again! The Muslim Youth has a very special place in the heart of the Center for Moderate Muslims (CMM). The latest pro-Youth Project of the CMM is its expanded Scholarship Program, effective second semester of Academic Year 2008-2009 or this November 2008.

From the present number of sixty (60) scholars, the CMM Management, according to its President, Comm. Taha M. Basman, has decided to increase the number to two hundred (200) grantees as its initial assistance for the educational needs of the Muslim Youth adversely affected by the conflict in Mindanao. Priority will be given to the “internally displaced persons” (IDPs) who had to abandon their studies due to financial difficulties brought about by the present crisis in the South.

The CMM has started helping the Muslim evacuees and the IDPs by joining forces with the Groups of Gov. Antonio “Omar Al-Thani” Leviste, the Royal Sultanate of Sulu, and the Majapahit Gold Land, Inc. in distributing relief goods in the Datu Piang Evacuation Center in Maguindanao on September 30, 2008 in time for the Eid ul Fitr. The other relief operation trips are planned for Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, North Cotabato, and other war-torn communities in Mindanao.

Aside from the Scholarship Grants and the relief goods, the CMM also intends to bring Livelihood Training Programs, Islamic Values Seminars, and Day Care/Madrasah Programs to the Evacuation Centers. It is the objective of the CMM to support the Muslim Youth to become productive members of the Society, despite the unfavorable circumstances they are in.

For more information about the Scholarship Grants, which cover tuition fees and other allowances, where appropriate, please contact the CMM Offices in Taguig City at Block 142 Lot 104 Maharlika Road, Upper Bicutan (Tel. 8376855, 5410996, 8385267) or the CMM Offices in Marawi City (c/o Mansawi Macadaag, MSU King Faisal Institute), the CMM Davao Office (c/o Aleem Mahmoud Adilao, Mini Forest, Davao City) and the CMM Offices in Zamboanga City (c/o Engr. Juhdar Ladjamatli, Wee Guiao Drive, Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City). The scholarship Program is for Elementary, High School and College
