Aside from the regular Imam Training, Women’s Seminar, Children’s Madrasah and their weekly radio program, “CMM Forum,” Center for Moderate Muslim - Zamboanga Chapter coordinators, Ms. Zaraida Mistul and Engr. Judz Ladjamatli continue to pursue service to the Muslim community through livelihood training programs with the local TESDA office in Zamboanga City.
Trainings like fruit-juice making and cooking were previously conducted to help beneficiaries to learn skills aimed to augment their family income.
Due to the success of the initial training programs, the CMM-TESDA tandem continued targeting more beneficiaries from the Muslim community. Last May, more participants underwent training for “Garment Skills Technology.” This program included the handicraft skills in making throw pillows, slippers and women’s bags. The course also covered an Entrepreneurship Seminar, lecture on the Sewing Machine and its uses, and the actual hands-on training where participants had the chance of creating their own bags, slippers and throw pillows.
The closing ceremony was attended by prominent leaders in Zamboanga City such as Ms. Francisca Gouda (AO of TESDA Zamboanga), Mrs. Dionisia Quisay (TESDA Trainor); Engr. Judz Ladjamatli (CMM Zamboanga Coordinator); Zamboanga City Vice-Mayor Mannix M. Dalipe, and Mr. Manuel Banua (Barangay Chairman, Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City). |
