The year 2008 (1429 Hijrah) augurs well for the Center for Moderate Muslims (CMM) Programs and activities. The CMM/MRI has started the renovation of the chalet-type structure standing on the lot acquired from the family of the late Ambassador Candidato Gutoc. To date, what remains to be accomplished is the finishing phase. According to Comm. Taha Basman, CMM President, “we can transfer to our new home by the first week of February 2008. All units of CMM will now have close coordination in doing community services in Metro Manila.”

      Meanwhile, the CMM staff members continue to occupy the current venues – CMM Daycare Program at the Hamdani Center; CMM Administrative Offices and Madrasah OB Montessori Program at the Isnani Compound; Computer Literacy Program, Sunday Women’s Seminar, Tartil Lessons Program, Youth Leadership Program, Children’s Weekend Madrasah Program, Imam Training Program and Livelihood Program at Silangan Elementary School II– all in Maharlika Village.” About 90% of the units and the corresponding activities will now be housed in the new CMM Headquarters located in Lots 104 and 105, Block 142 in Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.

      According to Comm Basman, the programs of CMM will be transferred to the new building and most transactions will effectively start during the middle part of February. Moreover, a vacant lot at the back of the existing building with an area of more or less 300 square meters, will be the site of a 4-storey building intended to house the income-generating activities of CMM-Taguig upon its completion.
