The Mindanao State University – Manila Information headed by its Director, Dr. Zenaida D. Pangandaman-Gania, is playing a significant role in the development process under the able leadership of its Acting President, Dr. Ricardo F. De Leon.  To highlight and recognize the outstanding accomplishments of MSU towards the 46th Foundation Day Celebration, MIO is currently doing
two highly intellectual tasks – a book entitled “At the Helm of MSU:  Its Presidents, Designated Acting Presidents/Officer-In-Charge, Outstanding Dignitaries and Important Personages Conferred Doctorate Degrees; Its Alumni and Highlights of Development during the tenure of offices of five Regular Presidents and five Designated Acting Presidents/OICs.”  This is to be highlighted with the accomplishments of the present MSU Governance.  The brochure of the Rich Arts and Culture of the Muslims and Indigenous Peoples within the ambit of MSU System is being finalized.

True to its mandate, MSU-MIO recently converted its office located at the 12th Floor G.E. Antonino Building, T.M. Kalaw Corner Bocobo Streets, Ermita, Manila (Tel. Nos. 526 4325 & 524 8222; Email Address: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) from a usual office setup into a permanent showcase of the rich cultural heritage of Mindanao and the University.  The conversion and showcasing of cultural items of MIO was launched on July 25, 2007 on the day the MSU Board of Regents held its 201st Regular Meeting at the 5th Floor of the same building.  No less than President De Leon, senior university officials, MSU chancellors, some members of the Board of Regents, MSU alumni and friends of MSU witnessed the launching of MIO’s cultural showcase.  The product of all vocational skills programs and livelihood units of the ten autonomous campuses will be on display at MIO to help augment the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenditures of the University at the same time promote the rich cultural arts and products coming from Southern Philippines.

Meanwhile, the MSU Alumni Association – National Capital Region will hold its Grand Reunion on Sunday, August 26, 2007, 3:00 pm at Armed Forces of the Philippines – COC, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, as announced earlier by Mr. Roberto Neri Lim and Mr. James Mante, Presidents of MSUAA-NCR South and North Chapters respectively.  MSUans in NCR, university’s former mentors, outstanding personages, dignitaries conferred doctorate degree and Datuship by MSU are expected to attend this momentous event.

Interestingly, with the able leadership of Gen. Juanito Gomez, who provides the venue for the said special event, initially stated that the International MSU Alumni Grand Reunion 2008 will be held in Manila.  This is in preparation for the Golden Jubilee year of the university.

May we invite all MSU alumni and friends of the University, art lovers and artists to visit MSU-Manila Information Office and enjoy view the rich arts and cultural of MSU System.
