The Muslim World eagerly awaits the coming of the Holy Month of Ramadhan! This is the time of the year when the Muslim practises utmost generosity and spirituality in reaching out to the needy members of the community and in becoming closer to the Creator, respectively. The Center for Moderate Muslims (CMM) will again play its significant roles in these activities.

    After a series of meetings with the staff, Comm. Taha M. Basman, CMM President, is happy to announce that the CMM has approved the following Programs during the Ramadhan-IFTAR in selected Mosques (Metro Manila, Cebu, Pampanga, Davao, Zamboanga City, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Bulacan and some communities in Basilan), Qur’an Reading contests, Youth Forums on Islamic Values, Women Seminars, Imam Training Programs, Islamic Lectures on-the-air, and Distribution of Groceries to selected CMM Beneficiaries during the 1st Day of Ramadhan.

    These Programs are supported by very generous Institutions and individuals who prefer to remain anonymous, in keeping with the teachings of Islam which prohibit boasting of one’s charitable deed. CMM is still accepting requests from Mosque Administrators and Imams for their inclusion in the various Ramadhan Programs. Processing of requests will close on September 12, 2007 because the Holy Month will either start on that day or September 13. Other programs are also lined-up during the Lailatul Qadr (last ten days of Ramadhan) and the Eidul Fitr.
