Muslim health buffs and sports enthusiasts trooped to the CMM offices as they awaited the opening of the CMM Annual Marathon around Maharlika Village in Taguig City.  Men and children, ages 12-60, came in droves to register and test their running prowess to garner the top prizes for the contest.  Parents, friends and relatives were also there to encourage the participants.

The event started with a du’a (prayer) by Ustaz Zacaria Duta and words of encouragement from CMM President, Comm. Taha Basman.  The marathon rolled-off with the Midget runners, followed by the Junior, Senior, and Balik-Takbo runners.  Security was provided by the motorcycle troop courtesy of Barangay Maharlika Council headed by Chairwoman Erlinda Pangandaman.  Bystanders and the neighborhood went out the streets to cheer the runners giving them the needed boost as they run up and down the hilly terrain of the streets of Maharlika Village down to the finish line.
