TMB-CMM Da’wah Programs for Summer 2010 Print E-mail

As in the past, the Center for Moderate Muslims (CMM) and Mindanao Research Institute (MRI), now in partnership with Taha Basman Foundation and Hamdani Foundation, will hold its Da’wah Programs for Summer. This is in keeping with the legacy of the group’s late founder, Comm. Taha Basman, who passed away early last year. The late founder believed that providing opportunities for the Filipino Muslim community is important for their economic advancement and spiritual uplift.

While the provincial CMM offices in Davao, Marawi, Jolo, and Zamboanga, are continuing their previous similar programs independently, and in a smaller scale, the CMM Manila office is set to sustain its support when sponsorships come in.

Through the help of our partners among its Ulama Groups and the community, the following programs will open simultaneously in Taguig City on April 5 and will end on May 15, 2010:

Food for Thought

“…..The gap set up between the Muslims (Islam) and the rest of the world can be removed only by an open-minded approach to the Qur’an, Islam, and the Muslim situation. For a number of historical reasons, contact between the West and the Islamic World is increasing. The relationship must grow on a foundation of knowledge and objective understanding. In this period, bias and ignorance deserve to be seen more as a challenge to be overcome than obstacles to be helplessly lamented!...”
